ABJHI and Alberta Hip and Knee Replacement Pilot among Best Practices in Research Partnerships in Canada

ABJHI and the Alberta Hip and Knee Replacement Pilot are featured in the new edition of the Partnerships Casebook published by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). 

In Healthier Together: The CIHR Partnerships Casebook, key leaders share their insights into the collaboration, communication practices and lessons learned while piloting an improved Alberta model for hip and knee replacements.  The Alberta Hip and Knee Replacement Pilot is profiled alongside researcher-to-researcher partnerships and university-community-policymaker initiatives.  The collection highlights best practices in health research partnerships and reveals the extraordinary impact that research can have when teams work together.

The Alberta pilot, conducted in 2005-06, was one of the most extensive health services delivery evaluations every undertaken in North America.  ABJHI won the 2007 CIHR Partnership Award for its work on the project.
