Alberta Project on Wait Times Featured in National Report on Health Care Innovation
Tuesday, Feb. 7: Calgary, AB - An Alberta project that is proving to reduce wait times and improve patient care for hip and knee replacements will receive a nod of approval from a national health care organization. Today, the Health Council of Canada will release its second annual report to Canadians at the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa. A video featuring the Alberta Hip and Knee Replacement Project and the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute will be included in the report.
The report is entitled: Health Care Renewal in Canada: Clearing the Road to Quality.
The report tracks how well the federal government, the provinces, and the territories have done in meeting their commitments to renew health care. The report also makes pointed recommendations on how to strengthen the accountability, coordination and sustainability of our health care system by increasing access to needed care, providing better quality services and improving population health.
