J.R. (Bud) McCaig Inducted into The Canadian Business Hall of Fame

J.R (Bud) McCaigCALGARY - J.R. (Bud) McCaig has been inducted into The Canadian Business Hall of Fame in recognition of his valuable contribution to the Canadian business community and to the economy and quality of life in Canada.

Mr. McCaig was Chairman of Trimac Corporation, which the McCaig family formed in 1945 and expanded into North America’s premier provider of services in highway transportation, including bulk transportation and logistics.

Known for his business success, generosity to the community and commitment to revitalizing health care for Albertans, Mr. McCaig founded Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute in 2004.

He was inducted posthumously into The Canadian Business Hall of Fame on May 6, 2008, as a member of the Laureate Class of 2008.

Established by Junior Achievement of Canada in 1979, The Canadian Business Hall of Fame celebrates the outstanding achievements of Canada’s most distinguished business leaders and the legacy they have created for future generations of business leaders. Laureates are nominated by their peers and chosen by an independent selection committee representing Canada’s foremost business, academic and media institutions.
