ABJHI and McCaig Institute: Committed to World-leading Bone and Joint Health Care and Disease Prevention for Albertans

McCaig ABJHI PartnershipEvery 60 seconds someone in Alberta enters a doctor’s office or a hospital seeking medical help for a bone or joint disorder – a level of demand that is expected to increase substantially with population growth and aging and rising obesity rates.

ABJHI and the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health are working together to ensure Albertans receive world-leading care when bone and joint problems strike.

McCaig Institute conducts research to improve treatment of debilitating bone and joint diseases and conditions.  ABJHI designs improved bone and joint health care services and evaluates the impact of the services on patient outcomes and health system efficiency.  The two are intrinsically linked, sharing valuable information to further their work.  McCaig’s research outcomes are among the sources of evidence ABJHI uses to design services.  In turn, ABJHI makes its service evaluation results available to McCaig researchers for opportunities to further advance their work.
