ABOUT US

The Alberta Bone & Joint Health Institute is the umbrella organization for bone and joint health care, research and education throughout Alberta. A not-for-profit organization, our work is supported by partnerships with universities, regional health authorities, medical and health practitioners, researchers, educators, government and private donors.

Vision

Our vision is a standard of bone and joint health and health care for all Albertans that is the best in the world - a standard others will want to emulate.

Mission

Our mission is to be the leading agent for continuous improvement in bone and joint health and health care for Albertans.

Goal

Our goal is to create an innovative, sustainable bone and joint health care model that is patient-centered, significantly improves access, quality and efficiency in the public system, and advances research and knowledge to ensure the care patients receive is effective.

Our work is dedicated to improving Albertans' health and wellness, regardless of location, age and social condition.

Knowledge is the underpinning for continuous improvement in bone and joint health and health care. The Institute has four key knowledge principles:

  • Create knowledge through excellent research and evaluation
  • Translate knowledge through strategic partnerships and outstanding education
  • Apply knowledge through world-leading health care
  • Acquire knowledge through sound processes
