The President and CEO of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, Dr. Alan Bernstein, will be the inaugural speaker for the Cy Frank Legacy Lectureship. His topic: The promise of the Health Sciences in the 21st Century – a Revisit.
Dr. Bernstein will deliver his lecture at three venues: University of Calgary on September 9; the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences annual meeting on September 16; and the University of Toronto on September 21.
The Cy Frank Legacy Lectureship is a travelling lectureship honouring and commemorating Dr. Cy Frank whose life was dedicated to allowing research to flourish and medical practice to progress. His many contributions to bone and joint health care as a leading orthopaedic surgeon, world-renowned researcher, teacher and tireless advocate for change have had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of Canadians. The lectureship showcases individuals whose work reflects the passion of Dr. Frank.
The University of Calgary event will be held in the Health Sciences Centre, Libin Theatre at 2 p.m.
