Alberta entrepreneur, philanthropist and community leader Jack Donald has been named as a member of the Alberta Order of Excellence, the highest accolade the Province of Alberta can bestow on a citizen. Jack, who retired from ABJHI’s Board this year after a decade of service, received the honour in a ceremony held in Edmonton on Oct. 14.jack-donald-Alberta Order of Excellence 2015

Just 149 Albertans have been named to the Alberta Order of Excellence since it was created in 1979 to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding impact at a provincial, national or international level. Jack was selected for the contribution his charitable activities, community work and business acumen have made to the social fabric and economy of Red Deer and Alberta.

Premier Rachel Notley said the province’s top honour serves as a reminder that “one person has the power to create meaningful change. It is this spirit that leads Albertans to achieve great things.”
