The Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute (ABJHI) was honoured last Thursday evening as the charity of choice for Chisholm Industries’ 1st Annual Charity Poker Tournament. Held at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, over 150 guests showed their support by competing in the friendly tournament. Nearly $9,000 was raised through silent auctions as well as player buy-ins. An additional $3,300 was donated after Christopher Smith, ABJHI’s Technical Director of Operations, cashed in his chips following his 1st place win in the tournament. He is a numbers man, after all.
The funds raised make it possible for ABJHI to continue to be innovators in advancing patient-centred bone and joint care for Albertans. “There is still much that we don’t know about the many forms of arthritis and other bone and joint conditions, but we’re working with bone and joint care providers to help answer remaining questions. Because the Institute believes that everyone deserves better bones, better joints, and better being,” says Mr. Smith.
We wish to thank Dale Chisholm, Danielle Chisholm, Sue Markowski and Courtney Ross, and all of the Chisholm team, guests and sponsors for a special evening in support of ABJHI.
