The Calgary lecture, organized by the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health (MIBJH), is part of the annual travelling Cy Frank Legacy Lectureship. It honours and commemorates Dr. Cy Frank whose life was dedicated to allowing research to flourish and medical practice to progress. Dr. Frank was instrumental in founding the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute and MIBJH. His many contributions to bone and joint health care as a leading orthopaedic surgeon, world-renowned researcher, teacher and tireless advocate for change have had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of Canadians.
