ABJHI Latest News & Research, Program & Project Updates

Albertans have the opportunity to attend a rewarding eight-week exercise-based program, currently offered in 39 clinics in 18 communities across Alberta, to help manage hip and/or knee osteoarthritis. The group education and exercise sessions enable people to learn how, through exercise and lifestyle choices, osteoarthritis pain can be decreased and mobility increased.

Called Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark (GLA:D), Alberta Health Services piloted the evidence-based program in 2017 through the Bone and Joint Health Strategic Clinical Network, in partnership with Bone and Joint Canada, the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation, the Arthritis Society, and the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute.
