As we’ve all learned over the past 48 hours, the number of cases of COVID-19 is growing in Alberta and we need to adapt to take necessary precautions to safeguard the health and safety of our community. Social distancing and self-isolation are not familiar concepts in everyday life, and we urge you to stay tuned to the direction of health authorities as the situation progresses. It is encouraging that our digital age offers a unique way of staying connected as we take action against this global pandemic and find ways to support each other now and over the coming weeks.
We’d like to take this opportunity to provide a big thank you to those working tirelessly to prevent the spread of this virus and support the heightened demand on our healthcare resources. There are also others that deserve recognition during this trying time—event organizers, grocery store attendants, airport staff—with more likely to come. This is a time for us to remember that Alberta is a strong, supportive community.
